Does anyone know where I can get hold of a label printer for slides (35mm)operating on a PC format?

Try the Cradoc caption writer from Iris AV (0208 500 2846. It allows two three or four lines of text on a standard label that fits across the edge of a 35mm slide frame. Iris also supply the sheest of labels.

Thanks Peter, but by the time I read your reply I had spent hours with "Publisher" and various labels and have managed to create my own.

Pete,

Having dug back through the archives, certain that my question must have been asked before, I came across this short thread. As I am unable to phone Iris AV during normal working hours and they do not seem to have a website, what is the ballpark price of the Cradoc caption writer?

Cheers

Thanks Pete, it means it's affordable now that the taxman has written back with good news for a change!

Herma also do slide label no. 5071 which is 43.2 x 8.5mm. 3200 lables to a pack for 10.50 I set up Word to print on it though I think Herma provide a free disk for this. You can order from Speedgraphic.co.uk

I managed to sneak of work for a while today and phone the gentleman at Iris AV (He said nice things about you Pete). The good news is that they still do the software and labels, the bad news is that inflation has hit hard and it is now 65+VAT+P&P, bringing it to 84.33. With anough labels to keep me going bringing it to over the ton! Still, t'was very good news from the taxman, so I decided to spend it quick before the family found out that I'd got it!

I've used the Cradoc Caption Writer for some time now. It's crude but reasonably effective.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has found an alternative source of supply for the Labels IRIS Audio Visual supply as they seem really expensive and their postage charges are astronomic.

Avery do 35mm slide labels J8656 and J8657. Don't know how much but I suspect about a tenner. The templates are on their design CD
