Landscapes by Blank Wall Gallery

Submit your photos for free
Deadline: Thursday October 1, 2020

Landscape is a genre many photographers like and are willing to travel all over
the world just to depict places that are out of the ordinary.
Some of the most beautiful and impressive places on earth.
There are breathtaking photographs taken by both amateur and professional photographers,
of places totally untouched by the human hand and others where
the human element exists in harmony with nature.

All kinds of landscapes are welcome to take part in the contest.

Choices Announced: Until Monday October 5, 2020
Exhibition: Friday November 13 Ė Wednesday November 25, 2020

The submission of photos for the specific contest is free. Each photographer can participate with up to 5 files.
All photographers, amateurs and professionals who are over 18, are eligible to participate to the contest.
The artists who will be chosen to participate in the exhibition and be presented at the web page of Blank Wall Gallery, will have to pay the amount of Ä35, if their photo is printed, and Ä15 if their work is displayed on the digital screen.
(The payment can be made via debit and credit cards)

This way, only the photographers who will exhibit their work will pay a small fee for participating in the exhibition. All the other artist will not be charged.

The photographs exhibited at the gallery will be printed at the labs of Blank Wall Gallery free of charge. In case an artist wishes to send us the printed photos, they are free to do it.

Forgive my negativity, but let me get this right:

1. You want work to exhibit and you are inviting photographers to submit work in the form of a contest.
2. The winners of the contest have a picture(s) exhibited, but need 35 euro for each printed image and 15 euro for each digital image shown in addition to indemnifying you for any legal action.
3. They can collect the images used after the exhibition from the gallery - oh, but you forget to mention her that the gallery is in Athens, Greece. It is assumed therefore that the collection will be at the photographers own expense.
3. By submitting images the photographer is also granting you free of charge an open marketing and promotional license for ANY of the images submitted (regardless of whether they are placed) - I note also that the wording of this is left very open. Marketing and promoting what? Similar competitions or anything else?

What does the photographer get from this? Oh, let me guess - an opportunity for promotion.

I think I'll pass.

I have reported this forum to EPZ support as a probable scam to rip off EPZ members.

Iíve seen the terms before Malc and have meant to comment before. I donít have a problem with them posting, but it is worth empathising the importance of reading terms. Ultimately, thatís what I was trying to say.

I had submitted an image in the competition conducted by Blank Wall called 'Fine Art', and one of my images 'I belong to poor class' existing in my pf, had been selected for exhibition, they didn't acepted PayPal, they only accept credit or debit card payment, but for security reason i paid them with a virtual credit card...they exhibited my image and as an evidence they had sent me 84 images of that is good for publication for professionals like you Adam...
I would just want to clarify some issues.
Blank Wall Gallery is an existing gallery.
We organise exhibitions printing and presenting the works of various photographers from around the world.
There are opening nights with guests, snacks and wine.
The gallery does not take commission from the photographs sold.
As a result, there must be a way for the gallery to be able to meet its expenses.
Believing that this is the most honest way, we decided that the artists should finance the
exhibitions themselves as we have no other funds.
After the end of the exhibitions we give the prints to the photographers and as a matter
of fact many of them either come themselves or send friends of theirs who live in Athens to
collect their prints.
After all with 35 euros we charge for the printing and the exhibiting of the photos it would be too much to
post the prints ourselves don't you think?
Not to mention that we do not charge for the submission of photos as most competitions do.
We only charge those who are selected and chose to pay in order to be exhibited.

Thank you for your time
