LCD tilt problem

10 Aug 2020 11:26PM
I bought an Olympus pen e-pl5 at a thrift shop (second hand store). It did not have an instruction manual. It works fine. Except when I tilt the lcd screen back into normal position the screen shuts off, but the camera remains on. I get no image in the screen unless I shut off the camera and turn it back on again. Does anyone know how to correct this so the lcd remains on when tilted back to its normal position?

It sounds like the ribbon cable will have worked it's way lose from the connection inside the camera, or alternatively it's been damaged and cracked. If you've the skills to take the camera apart then you could re-attach the cable. Alternatively it might need a replacement cable.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll have a look at the instruction books to see if I can do the job. Thanks again.
