Left or right eye?

I recently read an article in a magazine in which a photographer was surprised to discover that most other photographers use their right eye when taking photos while she uses her left eye. This surprised me too as I had never even thought that using your left eye was unusual as I also am "left eyed". So I was just wondering what percentage fo you guys are either left or right eyed. I had to pick a camera up to test this. Right.

Yep...right eye, although I don't close my left when viewing.

Right eye. Recently learnt the trick of keeping both eyes open - makes wildlife photography so much easier. Mind you. I'd probably do just as well keeping both eyes closed.

I do that sometimes Keith, especially if taking a pan of a bird or something. Easier to keep track.

I'm sat here opening and closing both eyes, getting some weird looks, but right for me.

Ok, looks like the rights have it for now. Lets see what the percentages are like when we get a few more replies.

Right-eye. But; I also keep the other open, especially when I'm waiting for a shot.

Being left-eyed with a manual winding camera can be awkward; you can have trouble winding on whilst looking through the viewfinder, or have the wind-on lever poke you in the eye (some cameras need the lever proud of the body to activate the lightmeter). Not a problem with modern SLRs or digi-cams though.

Left eye for me (left handed as well). But normally use right eye with telephoto lens keeping both eyes open, if you can get used to it the effect is similar to a heads up display. Very useful technique for seeing whats around you than rather than being restricted to just the viewfinder image

It's a well-known fact that all left-eyed people are weird.

Right, with both eyes open.
