second hand Sekonic L308BII same as I use. Accurate to 1/10th stop and does flash as well as ambient

Can't go wrong with a good old Weston Master IV.It has never let me down yet,although it can't do flash it works a treat,no batteries,and the best thing is that it's bloody reliable and accurate!!

That's what i was gonna say Phil, any of the Weston Range really, i sort of collect 'em so i've got about 15, but like you say the IV is the biz, i still keep one in my bag for when i need a second opinion

As long as the Weston has the Invercone with it, and the thing is accurate, then I'd agree its a cracking good tool.

There are also good older Gossen models if you prefer an analogue dial reader. If a digital readout is desired then I agree with Frank, or look at something like the Gossen Sixtomat.
