When you say "Crashing" is it just closing down or giving an error message or what?

Is anything recorded in the windows event log?

Have you tried creating a new catalog and using that ?

Never had a problem with mine BTW.

Good idea. If you find Capture One crashes as well, then it may be a problem with your computer.

I assume you have tried uninstalling LR (I recommend Revo Uninstaller - a free download) and re-installing? Something may have goine wrong when you installed it. It is just possible you have a corrupt copy of LR although I suspect the problem lies elsewhere.

look for the light room error logs

you can probably search for the most recently updated files in the lightroom install folder - one near the top will probably be a log file.

Open it in Notepad

take a look in that at the most recent entry - that's probably the last line in the file, not the first one Wink

copy that line from notepad

paste in to Google

see what comes back - it's very rare that you're the only one to have such issues.

Are you running the latest version of Microsoft Net Framework?.....It's crucial if you use both Capture One or Lightroom on Windows, just an idea of course.

I use LR2. Yes, it's flawed and it crashes frequently but it's extremely useful.

I don't think that I'll ever see perfect software, or a perfect cameras for that matter - much better to just get and use it!

often worth learning when to hit "save" Wink

i.e. before using certain filters, hit save

before anything "big", hit save

not sure with lightroom though - never used it.

Sounds like a corrupted download (or dubious copy?)
I've run every incarnation of Light Room on a range of different PCs and never had a problem - (its my main DAM programme as well as for post -processing)
Once you've contacted Adobe you should get the answer but if you don't want to do that try re-installing with your Anti-virus software temporarily switched off - I have read some people have had problems with clashes (no experience my self)
