Losing Colour in PS CS2 when saving as TIFF/jpeg

Please can anyone help? I have just noticed a very annoying issue when I am processing images in PS2. Let me run through my workflow.
1. Open RAW file in Lightroom
2. select Edit with PS2 - File opens up in PS2 as a PSD file
3. make tweaks to Levels & Curves, check & flatten image
4. Crop to A3 size at 300dpi
5. Change from 16Bit to 8Bit colour depth
6. Save image (with nice punchy colours showing) as Tiff.
When I close this file, then re-open it the colour has changed to a much more drab and flat image. It happens for Jpegs too and it doesn't matter if I leave at 16Bit.
I have not noticed this happen before.
Have I inadvertently selected something that is changing the details on save?

I really would appreciate any advice or support on this guys. Cheers, Kevin

It is nothing to do with bit depth, have a look and see what colour profile is being attached to the image, you may find that you have photoshop set to ignore the attache colour profile.

Never attach - always convert to a profile.

Thanks Mike,

I managed to work out what was wrong.
Profile was set to Camera Profile (Nikon) and Working Profile was CYMK.
I changed to RGB working Profile and converted the images to Adobe RGB (1998).

When I save now, the colours remain same when I re-open the file.

Many thanks, Kevin
