Ok… one step at a time… I put a pic in new folder on I drive outside of LR. When I click import the folder shows in the left hand panel, when I click on that folder it shows the pic I just put in.
I am copying from I drive to I drive of course.

Now that I have imported it the folder "I" that was showing has gone from the list down the left hand side. If I now click import, that folder shows up on the list again. If I cancel the import the folder disappears so of course I cannot drag and drop because it's not there. (It's an age-thing I'm afraid)!

Why do y ou need to create a new folder and put one picture in there? Why not just move the directory?

I just get a sense things are getting a little confused and you are in danger of going round in circles and making things worse.

Perhaps time to take a step back and work through and understand exactly what you have done so far as I fear something, difficult to say exactly what, is not quite right.

Stepped back many times, stepping back till tomorrow now. I'm sure it will be something like a simple tick somewhere.

Colin, I am glad that it is all sorted. Perhaps the most useful thing I posted was that Chris-L knows what he is talking about. This also demonstrates the value of this forum.

Well I hope I can help folk with wildlife photography as much as I have been helped with other subjects so many times. Yep, this ephoto forum is pretty darn good.
