What M42 lenses do you guys have?. Also please post pictures of the lenses and images taken with the lenses.

I've got a few now and am finding them addictive Smile

I had a Pentacon 50mm . The results were awful, especially the bokeh. Couldn't get a sharp photo. Here's an example.

They can definitely be a bit hit and miss Umberto, loads of 50mm and 58mm out there and hard to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Michael that 28 is really nice Smile

I have Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm f2.4 and Pancolar 50mm f1.8, plus Pentacon 135mm 2.8(MC). Used to use them on a Praktica PLC2 - it's still around, but there's something wrong with the viewfinder, looks like something is broken up there.
Haven't used them in years, but a point to bear in mind about the 50mm 1.8s (Carl Zeiss Jena and probably the Pentacon as well) is that they can be quite soft up to say f5.6 - I always used f8 to f16 for sharp pictures. Used to get really dreamy portraits with the Pancolar on wider settings (no skin blemishes, mm, but of course lack of sharpness - how much of that was due to the lens or inaccurate focusing I can't say, but I read a review here Pancolar that suggests it was the lens).
I stopped using them when I had an AF SLR because neither the focus screen nor the focus confirmation were anywhere near accurate enough. Must get a camera that can use them, but somehow haven't get round to buying one.

Meet a fellow addictGrin, since recently acquiring my Sony A6000 I have bought the following M42 lenses:

Helios 135 f 2.8, Asahi Takumar 105 f 2.8 and a Asahi Takumar 55 f 1.8 which was used for these images.

Also picked up a pentax 28mm f 2.8 with a pentax K mount for about 20 at the local cash converters.

Great images Tony,

My collection also includes:
Jupiter 9 Practically brand new ex-Soviet, tricky but fantastic;
Industar 61LZ MC - average in everything except bokeh It looks like 50mm lens is hard to find in pristine condition, hence great difference in results;
Also to the mix:
M39 (not to snigger at too)
Industar 69 -now in the process of servicing/adopting for M4/3 (not easy but looks promising);
M39 Jupiter8 50mm f2.0 on Zorki4K (Russian Leica remake):

Finally in-built T43 40mm f2.8 on primitive ( but nice!) Russian Smena 8M (got it in undisturbed factory packaging):

Some guys manage to adapt the latest one on mirrorless cameras - it's a FF lens.

I wouldn't be able to use them if it wasn't for aids like focus peaking in the EVF as seen on Olympus, Panasonic

I have a Praktica with a 50mm lens and I was given a Zenit with the usual 58mm but I haven't got round to using them, then I bought a mint Nikon F40 which I use as my everyday 'film' camera, because I have several lenses to fit, now I have a very good 1959 Voigtlander Bessamatic which is exceptionally good for colour rendering and sharpness and exposure, plus a mint Minolta 110 Zoom Mk 2 SLR which will also get used. So I don't really know if I will ever use the M42 equipped jobs! Smile
And all my Konicas are up for sale!

I don`t have any M42 lenses but I picked this Praktica B mount lot up just before Christmas, a 28mm, a 50mm a 135mm and a zoom, interestingly also included was an adapter for attaching M42 lenses.

I got the whole lot including the film body for a tenner, the shutter in the body was jammed but it was easily fixed, I keep meaning to sell on the body and zoom lens.

At some point I`ll be picking up a M4/3 to Praktica B mount adapter mount and I will also be able to attach m42 lenses using that included adapter.

GX7 is dwarfed by the 500mm, the 55mm f1.8 looks better on it but the converter spoils the look.

Its the only downer using adapters, it can double the size of even the smallest of lenses.

Nikons 50mm pancake and even some standard 50`s like the zuiko`s are small but the size benefits are all lost with adapters.

Had my Helios 44-2 only a few days but what a gorgeous lens, a bugger to focus sharply, but i refuse to go smaller than f/2, pointless owning it otherwise i guess. Attached to my fuji x-a2.

I like the look you get from that, I know what you mean about refusing to go narrow, the shallow dof is totally nailed on the dog shot. I still think you should try it stopped down just to see how the contrast and sharpness compares to your modern lenses, it might be better!
