I've just won 500 worth of Jessops vouchers in the Digital Picture of Britain competition run by the BBC and would like to spend some of it on a macro lens and some filters for my Canon EOS300D.

There seems to be a big choice of lenses and I would be greatful for any advise you fine folk could offer as to what to buy.

On the filter front I only have a circular poloriser at the moment and would like to know which other filters you might suggest as first choice.

Canon 100mm 2.8 macro........ thats most of it gone.. lol

Dunno about the filters..... I'm sure someone else will help there.... but jessops don't do many.

Agree with above go for the Canon 100mm, filters you could go for a Cokin P series set up for landscape filters all you really need is a few ND Grad filters if you can get a set of 3 0.3 0.6 0.9 and a couple of ND filters then you are set up well, also if you are wanting to get into more landscape work go for a remote switch if you do not already have one.

Thanks Emma and Chris. Just over 400 for the lens then. Ah well, a fool and his money are soon parted :0)

If you got the 60mm EF-S Macro it could double as a portrait lens [96mm with the x1.6 crop]

The EFS 60mm Macro is 319.99 from jessops and if you have one of the vouchers from canon you can get a further 35 cash back.
