Metz or Sunpak

10 Feb 2013 5:44PM
I am debating whether to get a used Metz CL 45 (maybe the digital version?) or one of the Sunpak hammerhead sets. I have a Nikon D5100 would these old flashes be compatible or would I need to buy some sort of adaptor? I heard these may even fry the cameras electrics ??

I was wondering what the best choices are because the Sunpak's have a load of accessories such as heads/handles/batteries

also can the strobist attachments from fotosense be used with tese

I am planing to use these with the cactus wireless system and I already have a Yongnuo Manual Flash YN560 II. I was thinking of using the metz/sunpak as the main light source and the 560 as a fill or hair light

Check the trigger voltages - (potentially) both can 'fry' your camera electronics.

Its not worth the risk for the sake of a safesync that's much cheaper than a fried camera.
