Just tried my first upload to Shutterstock....6 out of 10 rejected but at least I know why and can concentrate on what they need.

Rejections were:-
Poor framing, cropping, and/or overall image composition - have found this on Alamy too...cropped shots just don't work
Contains potential trademark or copyright infringement - so..avoid any shots that have well known brands, or names in the frame
Commercial images with recognizable individuals require a model release - avoid any images where faces are recognisable - even if you've got no idea who they are!!!!
Poor or uneven lighting, or shadows. White balance may be incorrect. - well that's just down to me

I hope to be able to make another submission soon...but now I can narrow the field down SmileSmile

My uploads failed the test on the first two attempts. I now have 1880 images on the site, and make between $150.00 and $220.00 per month on this site.
