Minolta Dimage Scan Dual film scanner and compatible SCSI card

After losing computer to electrical overload together with SCSI card, I have had replacement computer and scanner serviced by minolta but now require SCSI card, Minolta have supplied a list of compatible "Adaptec" cards, with Japanese/American Nos. (which may not be identical here)including AVA 2902E, my friend has identical scanner with a card No. 2903B, I have been offered a new card No. AHA 2904CD. at a reasonable price, but cards have huge varied prices upto 140. which is out of my pocket. Can anyone offer advice please ?

Hi Roger

Bad luck about the overload! Do you only want to use the SCSI card with your scanner, or have you plans in the future to add any other devices to the SCSI card?
If you don't then I'd suggest saving money and buying the cheapest Adaptec card recommended by Minolta. The more expensive models only add higher bandwidth and more connections, useless to you if you are only going to connect your scanner to it. So the AHA 2904CD sounds a good choice.
Good Luck, Will.
