Mountmaster help!!

Apologies if this is in the wrong bit of the forum...

I have inherited a mountmaster mat cutter - but there were no basic instructions for use - and the company seems to have ceased trading.

has anyone here got any instructions - and if so - could I be hugely cheeky and ask if you would be prepared to photocopy them for me (I'd pay for postage) - or scan them and email them to me?

I have had a go without instructions - and the results are a bit haphazard - I am not sure if I am using it right at all!!

many thanks for reading this far!

A search on here for "Mounting Board" brings up some good info - which might help - including someone who has Mountmaster instructions

Hi Phil, Lobsterboy (Chris Shepherd's) tutorial got me out of a very similar hole with MatMaster, if your cutter is another brand, this applies to all.

Chris's tutorials

Don't think they've gone pop I seem to remember getting an email saying they will no longer be trading in the UK because of prohibitive taxes etc.....Not heard that one before have we!!

Hope this helps.

many thanks for your speedy reply! I did the search you suggested (and have previously searched for "mountmaster") - but I cannot find the post where someone says they have the instructions - could you link me to it - or PM me more specifically? Many thanks for your help!

that's VERY helpful jken - and I have bookmnarked the site. What I also need, though - is something one step back from that - I have the mountmaster and a mountmaster accessory - the vertical arm - and I am not even sure i have attached the bits together properly - so I also need the basic set-up instructions! Many thanks for your help.

Have you looked on their site:
http://www.clubframeco.com/
Not sure what bit you mean by " the vertical arm". Are you talking about the extra extension that runs along the bottom to put the mountboard on ?

Hi Chris,

are Mountmaster now "Mat Master"? the site you link is Mat Master and doesn't seem to feature anything quite like the mountmaster I have...

(I may be being thick though!)

here's what mine looks like (be aware that the perpendicular arm might be attached wrongly!)

No your right Phil, my bad - two different companies.

I would try PMing Barry Harwood as he seems to have one.

or Mike Young, 279 Horbury Road WAKEFIELD WF2 8LG, 01924 373385
as he seems to do the blades for them.

thanks Chris! I did PM barrie - am waiting for a reply (also stalked him to his website and emailed him from there Wink )

I phoned Mike Young - but they stopped selling them 6 years ago and he has nothing left - not a trace! the hunt continues.... thanks for your help!

I think Barrie is in Bahli so you might have a bit of a wait.

ahhh - I'll be patient then - and in the meantime have another fiddle on my own!

(or I might cheekily take it down to the local framing shop and ask if they know!)

thanks,

Phil

Hi I'm a new member, I have the Mountmaster instructions that you are looking for!

It's been a long time since your original post so do you still need them?

I can post copies or Email, whatever you like!

Hi,

I also have the instructions for the Mountmaster instructions which I have scanned as a PDF (10 pages).

If anyone still requires them I am happy to email. (These include the instructions for the squaring arm).

Regards

Hello, I’m new here. Does anyone still have user instructions I could beg or buy for the mountmaster mat cutter please?
