I had much the same problem, brought the battery indoors for a couple of days, out of the cold, gave it and the contacts on the mower a clean dropped onto the charger...bingo...it worked. Grass now shorter than it was :)

Lithium batteries don't like being empty and the cold, either bring the battery into the house over winter or make sure you charge it every couple of months.
