Hi ePhotozine community!
If you havent heard of us or you just know we buy and sell used camera gear then I'd like to give you all a little intro and a basic 'why we're here posting' if I may
We first set up MPB.com in Brighton, UK to transform the way that people buy, sell and trade-in photo and video kit. Now were aiming to be more than that: an online destination for everyone, whether you've just discovered your passion for visual storytelling or youre already a pro.
So, to help the community here of photographers and videographers along in their journey, weve created guides, tips, tricks and assembled helpful lots of other information so that knowledge is something always at hand.
In this thread, Ive share a collection of links to those guides so that everyone here has easy access to them in one place. If any of our guides help you then wed love to hear about it! Discussions are more than welcome so let us know by replying to this thread.
The first set of guides that Id like to share covers the basicsI hope they will be found useful:
MPB basics of photography: 6 tips for beginners and students
MPB beginners guide to basic camera settings
MPB beginners guide to composition
MPB guide to the exposure triangle: Aperture, ISO and shutter speed
MPB guide to prime lenses: Understanding focal length, distance and perspective
MPB guide to lens hoods
Following on from the beginner guides, I thought it might be useful for members to also share the information we've put together on lens compatibility for some of the major brands. These charts come in handy when trying to decide on new bodies or lenses as lens mounts have changed over the years and photographers may not necessarily want to replace their glass when upgrading the camera body.
Canon Lens Compatibility
Nikon Lens Compatibility
Nikon DSLR Lens Compatibility
Next, here's a series of how-to guides for various genres of photography for those who are looking to get started in a particular field. Or, just helpful for experimenting and discovering where your passion lies.
MPB guide to travel and vacation photography
MPB guide: 5 street photography tips
MPB guide to creating better macro photography
MPB guide: 10 steps to becoming a wildlife filmmaker
MPB guide to architectural photography
MPB guide: 5 tips for shooting with models
