Need Help - What is This?
I bought a new computer a while back (over a year) but never had to use DVD/CDs etc. Opened the draw today because I need to reload some programs, and found this:
my cd doesn't fit - just sits on top and wobbles around. Can anybody advise what I have here before I start trying to get support? The PC is out of guarantee, but I have an extra 2 years support, but....

Oh dear. Scrap that. Sorry, just having a bad day. CD works fine - just had to apply a bit of pressure - it's all very wobbly, though.
Yes, some drawers need to have the disc clicked down (usually over 3 spring-loaded ball bearings)
as they have no upper clamp to lower onto the center for stabilising the disc in rotation.
It is a bit unusual on a computer, though. Usually found on a portable player.

Thanks - but as per my next post I did get the thing working. Just needed a squeeze! Not a very robust piece of equipment, though, but I have to admit that part of my problem was that I was somewhat distracted by the way Windows 10 had removed a program (Epson Scan). I did get things working in the end, but the scan utility has been modified and is now about as friendly as a cornered rat
