Thanks for the link Mark but *about to cause another row* I didnt vote for your photo.

I didnt vote for No5 either but I can see that it is equally as valid under the hero title. Much in the same way as the 'he's not heavy he's my brother' element. It would make a good PJ illustrative picture.

My vote went to No3 however, beautiful photograph but equally good sentiment for me. My dad died a couple of years ago and he was always my hero. In one quiet moment one day he told me I was his. Thats why I clicked that one (and its a beautiful photograph).

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I fully understand your choice of vote! but I feel photo number three would be better suited to the 'Solitude' category the BBC ran a few months ago. Still everyone to their own interpretations.
