Hello Lady's and Gentlemen.
I have posted a few comments, but realised somewhat late, that I should have done this first.
My name is Martyn, and I am 56 years old. As a teenager I was lucky enough to be given a Canon AE1 Program, from were my love of photography developed, (no pun intended!). I was and always will be an 'outdoor' type of person - my idea of heaven is to be out in the middle of no were with my camera with one one else around - sad, I know!
I went through life, married, divorced and taken to the cleaners by my ex. Now live on my own in Maidstone, kent, (very happily) and have just started to get back into photography.
I have been looking for a site to chat with fellow photographer's and learn from them. Have had a few bad experiences with some sites and more or less been told to 'go away' as I didn't have the latest, most expensive cutting edge gear that would cost more then I earn in a year, but think I've found the right one this time.
I use a Lumix G6, 14-42mm F3.5 - 5.6 HD Lumix lens and a Lumx 45-150mm F4.00 -5.6 HD. Very happy with both, and an improvement on the AE-1 Program, although revolutionary in it's day!
I look forward to chatting with you all and getting to know you.
Stay safe and well boys and girls.
Martyn.

Welcome aboard Martyn,

I dont think you will find gear snobbery here and if you have questions you will find everyone to be receptive and helpful.

Regards
Simon

Amigo, what it matters is the photograph itself, the end result, not the camera, not the medium. Don't feel ashamed of the equipment you have. People made beautiful pictures even a hundred years ago, they certainly had less advanced cameras, so what? Did anybody snubbed Picasso because how old his brush was?

Start uploading and sharing. You can upload images in the general gallery where they can be voted but you can also submit images to the critique gallery for other photographers can assess and advise.

Enjoy yourself, welcome!

The best camera is the one in your hands at the time of the shot Smile

If it's in the car or at home its no good
