Has any one experienced problems in trying to install Nik Collection with Windows 11. I get the following error message

.

An online dialogue with DXO support over the past 2 months has not solved the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried asking Nik - I have always found them extremely helpful in sorting out any problems that you may have with installing.

Which version of Nik Collection are you running?
A quick google seems to suggest that Nik Collection 3 or earlier is not compatible with W 11 - you need Nik 4 for that.

Brian writes that he has been in dialogue with DXO without any success...

That would seem to make sense but personally, I've never been tempted to pay for Nik, so I'm still using the free 'Google' version, trouble free, on Windows 11 but issues like yours do seem to crop up fairly regularly in fora elsewhere.

I did read of one user who had to switch off his AV before Nik would instal and presumably, you'll already have tried installing it as administrator?

Other than that, I'm afraid, I can't help you.

In that case, I would suggest the problem lies with Windows - I have seen elsewhere that others have had compatibility problems with various softwares since updating to v11...

OMG - I am so sorry! I was obviously having a senior moment - had forgotten completely that they had been taken over by DXO! Jester jolted me from my daze - thanks Jester!

Thanks everyone. I am awaiting a reply from DXO (again) to see if they have any other suggestions, this has been going on for a couple of months now!

I suggest checking the apps page in Windows Settings, if Nik is there then uninstall reboot and try again (if you've not already tried this).

A google search through up a few similar, on other photography forums.
Some list a conflict with Lightroom and a catalogue corruption, a copy and paste;

"I solved the problem. Turns out that Adobe Lightroom had a corrupt catalog. Once I created a new catalog the installation went through without a hitch and worked perfect. Hopefully that helps others who might have the same problem."

However this might be worth a try too.

Dave, Many thanks for your ideas. I don't use Lightroom and I have tried the MS trouble shooter, to no avail.

Not familiar with WIndows 11, but you could try to instal in "Safe Mode"(not always easy to get in to) Also if there is a compatability feature try Run as Windows 10.

UPDATE. DXO have finally solved the problem. This was there suggestion and it worked!

Our team noticed that something was broken with the Visual C++ Redistributable, which prevents Nik from being installed.
We would recommend uninstalling Visual C++ Redistributable, it can be uninstalled via "Programs and Features".
Please search for "Visual C++ Redistributable" and uninstall all items. It shouldn't break your system.
After that please install NikCollectio 4 again - it will try to download and install "Visual C++ Redistributable" properly:
