Is the Nikon 500mm f4 ED VR AF-S a significant upgrade from a Tamron 150-600mm G2?
Just Wex have a used one which looks like it's been in a war but it works & the optics are fine.

The Nikon is a very good lens which works well with the not easy to find current Nikon 1.4x converter.
It does not have the convenience of a zoom
