Hi, With what seems to be a great leap in software with the use of AI just wonder (1) Does AI actually work and (2) Looking for a software to combat noise at high ISO from my Canon 70D, why high ISO? because trying to get into bird photography and fast shutter speeds seem to require a higher ISO when you only have a lens with a Maximum Aperture of f/5.6 (Canon 400mm).Thankyou, Russ.

I have Topaz DeNoise which is very good but Topaz have subsumed all their software into 'Studio' which is a stand alone programme so I don't know if it is still available as individual software.

I've always been very happy with NeatImage for noise reduction and can recommend it.

Included in the formerly free NIK collection is a very good noise reduction programme called Dfine2. You can use manual or automatic modes, with manual being the way to go. So if you already have NIK, take a look at it.

What editing software do you already use?

I have found Topaz AI Clear very effective cleaning up images taken with my Bridge Camera in low light. However, do not get carried away with the use of the term AI. In this case it is just a further development of the software which is very effective. But I was assured by the UK's Guru in AI ( at a science Festival) that true AI has yet to be achieved but many use the term.

Lightroom 6 and On1 Photo RAW but was more curious about this AI that they all seem to be quoting and not just in software. Thankyou, Russ.

If you are shooting raw just download a copy of DXO Photolab 2 and use PRIME noise reduction. You only see the effect of PRIME in the small preview window because it is so computationally intensive but works like magic.

Looked at the link and yes it offers a 30 day free trial but having downloaded Topaz A I Clear trial I am very impressed with it for what I need to do.
Thankyou to all for advice. Russ.
