The performance is good according to Which? Norton have just bought BullGuard which I had been using which expired a few weeks ago. During the final two weeks of my contract, my BullGuard was suddenly replaced with Norton 360. Unfortunately, I lost my regular facility for backing up various folders. Much worse I could no longer send emails from one of my email addresses as Norton blocked them, This was critical so I was not prepared to go ahead with Norton. After consulting Which? I went for Bitdefender, and it seems fine so far. Whatever you do, avoid setting auto renew. I can see an advert on this page for Norton 360 at £10.47 but they were asking me for £88 to renew.

I use Norton, which for the first few years was okay, but over the last two years it has turned into an absolute nightmare, and I will be looking for an alternative when this year's subscription ends. It's as if they're blackmailing me to pay extra for additional services.
So, what is happening? All devices that have Norton installed freeze up, and a pop-up appears from Norton telling me that a solution is available. The solution is to install Norton utilities which costs an extra £30 per year and claims to get your PC running as new. I have tried Norton utilities last year and to be honest, it did not make the slightest bit of difference so I cancelled that part of the subscription this year. Why pay £30 a year for nothing? May I add that their pop-ups prove very difficult to close, and there are several that keep popping up, each one trying to get me to buy a different add-on. I can assure you that it is the fault of Norton. I uninstalled Norton on one device and it worked perfectly well after I had done so. Their promise is to keep your device free from ransomware, but they do themselves literally hold your PC to ransom via this practice.
To be fair though, protection against viruses is probably second to none in my opinion.
If you do decide to give it a try you will protect your devices for a year even if you cancel the auto renewal
Good luck.
William.

I've used Kaspersky for a number of years now, buying licences ex Amazon when I need them.
Performs well, at least as far as I can tell.

A single licence for 2yrs, at a reasonable cost, covers two computers, two phones and MrsD's tablet.

Kapersky is no longer recommended by Which? as the UK goverment will not let any government or local goverment departments use it as it is Russian and presents a security threat. As an individual, it is unlikely that they would target you unless you fairly visible do something anti-Russian or anti-Putin. Too risky for me.
