Of the many Plug-ins for PS, which ones are any good?

Hi there,

There are shed loads of plug-in's for Photoshop these days but I was wondering what ones are actually getting used and that people find useful?

I do like the Fred Miranda ones myself.

Can anyone recommend any others that are worth a try?

depends on what you are after, of course. Personally for upsizing, I have yet to come across a better one than Genuine fractals for quality..

Genuine fractals, noise ninja and Corel Knockout. All get used on a weekly basis.

The two I use most often are,
Interpolate this and Virtual photographer. Both superb pieces of software(plugins).

Bernie, if you like those, try these demos, you'll be able to continue using them even after expirey, you just have to clone out the bit of junk they leave. here

Hi, Loads of good ones but some of my favourites are: iCorrect Edit Lab Pro for colour work, Extensis - SmartScale & Mask Pro 3 also ImageAlign Pro if needed. Hope this helps. Paul.

I've installed/dowmlaoded about a dozen from various magazines, but the only one I tend to use is Fotomatics BW-Plus.

It basically converts an image to Black & Whote, but offers the filter options that many traditional 35mm photographers would use. (red, green etc) It's great for portraits, and moody B&W shots.

Often pops up as a freebie on magazines and well worth a look.

Thank you Christian and Conrad, I shall give That one a look as I like to go from colour to B&W with some images.

Fotomatic range of filters are not available to DL from that site Conrad. Here is what they say...

These filters are currently work-in-progess and I will be releasing each one individually as soon as they are ready. Please note that some of them are to be used as "exclusive" content for various magazine CDRom cover disks and as such they will not appear on this site until some time afterwards.

I'll keep on looking...

They are downloadable, but not obviously so. When you get to the screen mentioned by PaulG scroll to the top and click on "Freeware" and follow the sub-menus - these takes you straight to the download areas.
