Does anyone know when the Mk 2 is actually going to be available, seems to be all smoke and mirrors

last I saw they were supposed to be releasing the first, very small, tranche of them second week December but the first real batch release is not until mid January. I'll try to find the source to confirm this.

As I understand it the recent earthquakes damaged the sensor producers' plants so there is a serious shortage

(all from my rather shaky memory, so don't take as gospel )

is this a marketing ploy?

I would suggest the fact there is no price yet reflects the fact that the camera is not yet for sale

If rumour is correct we should be able to order one from tomorrow, at which point the price should also be available

Remember the recent earthquakes in Japan have delayed many new camera's recently, the Fuji X-A3 should have been released by now but its been put back from what I can make out, i'm guessing the same is true for the Oly.

Almost the same price here in Norway. I wasn't expecting it to be more than 1400, but I am not shocked. Got to pay what they ask anyhow, so no complaints really. For me it's just nice to know what is costs so I know how much I need to put aside when I'm saving up for my goal.

So you would pay 134 more than you have to? Seems like interfoto is the amateurs, claiming that much more for the same product.

I am more focused on the total package the store offers. The professionalism, customer services and willingnesss and ability to find solutions that suit the individual more than weigh up for the price differences. Their all-round expertise far exceeds that of Scandinavian.
But let's not hijack this thread...Wink

Is that body only? That's... quite a lot. It looks like a great camera, but that pitches it higher than a lot of 35mm format cameras. It b=does better its predecessor in almost every respect, but we're three years on. I think you'd have to say it's evolutionary from the first version - which Olympus would seem to be acknowledging by labelling it a mk2. Much as I'd like one, at this price I'm out. It will be interesting to see if Panasonic pitch the GH5 at a similar price point.
