Just recently I have been trying to clone out people on a beach. the cloning tool keeps leaving a blue and red ghost image behind.
I cant remember seeing this when I first used the program and I am wondering if I have inadvertantly changed a setting.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am not familiar with paint shop but in P/S the first thing I would check is the mode is set to normal this is on the bar above the photo in P/S.

I've just been playing around with the clone tool and it looks like you have the blend mode settimg wrong.

I get an effect similar to your description with the luminance setting.

If you set the blend mode to normal all should be OK.

Oh, to get to the blend mode settings its:

I use the studio 5 small easy version of paint shop
but it sounds like it might be the exact spot you place the clone tool some times it takes on a near by bit,
try to clone a bit that is completely free from other colour and make it clone in small pieces rather than larger continuous bits,
hope this makes sense to you,

Do you mean it leaves an image on the area you cloned from? As davlaw said, first check all the blend modes. But if it's leaving a ghost image at the area you're cloning from , that sounds weird...I've checked all the tool options inside out and can't duplicate it. A clean re-boot and try again....and if it persists, a hassle surely but maybe re-instal the program - unless anyone else has any ideas

Thanks to all for your help.

Macroman, you were spot on. I had somehow managed to set it to Luminance.

Glad to be of help 'for once' Wink

I'm still on PSP 8, can't see any need to update as it does all that I want and more. And I can always use Gimp if I need different tools.
Had PSP10 (trIal)) but it used too much memory and slowed everything down.
Also have PSP7, which I keep just for the animation program.
