Ask at a main post office. When i renewed mine, i took my old passport to my local and they did all the donkey work for me, including the photo. Got my new passport within 2 weeks.
Meant to say, some post offices have special booths set up just to do passports. All the paperwork, forms and everything.

No need to have it signed now, quite a quick process online, iPhone photo is ok too.
Mine was back in two weeks.

There's no chance of that happening if your Passport has expired.

It's a new photo job and a full, old time, paperwork job for that.

You get right through to the last page and give your Passport number and it comes up with a red line notice!

I've no intention of renewing my passport as I have no intention of travelling abroad, or flying within UK.

Just a miserable 77 yr old git who intends to stay so.

Do not fear taking your own passport photo. Even I managed it! 😁
