Perseid Meteor Shower

Sometime in the latter part of the 1990's, myself and a group of friends were at Hunstanton about midnight, about to go onto the beach when we spotted a green flare over the sea, after scratching our heads for 5 seconds, another flare appeared, but orange, and in another part of the sea, away from the first, and then another one, in another place, then seconds later the sky lit up with meteors, and they seemed to be flashing different colours too, it was like some cosmic firework display, they were bright and very numerous, not just one after the other but several at a time, constantly for about 20 minutes or so, until it suddenly stopped.

The weird thing is, those first few appeared to be coming from the sea, not from the sky, but they must have been meteors and not flares, and oddly enough we still mention it now and then too Smile

Quote:Nice one Lexi. I've never, ever seen a meteor shower. We always seem to have cloud over London. Only a couple of days left so fingers crossed.
Mind you, going to bed at 10.00pm doesn't help the viewing average. Grin
