Is there any chance of a PM facility here? Pretty Please?!
I don't want to make my email address public but occasionally it would be handy to correspond with another member without boring the rest of ePz!

I think that's a good idea, I've also occasionally wanted to ask a question of a specific member.

Doesn't get my vote - wouldn't be any fun if people went off whispering on their own.

Umm! I mentioned this about 6-8 months ago when I first came here, and the idea was definitely pooh hooed! Wink I was told that if people wanted to be contacted, they would leave their e-mail address! (can you believe they would with all the spamming going on!) I visit several groups, I think they all have the facilty you are proposing, and I've never seen it abused yet. Like you, I think it's a useful tool, but you'll be fighting an uphill battle here! Wink And don't suggest "smileys", whatever you do! Smile))))

"Are we getting smilies then ???"

Dream on! I seriously think avatars and smilies are more adornment, amusing, but not escencial, whereas Personal Messaging is slightly different, it can be very useful.

at one time members e.mail addresses were shown ,but there was an element that abused the system and sent unpleasant messges to other members.

i'm with edward. i don't mind reading what others have to say to each other unless it's a secret. might make me think too, and i might unexpectedly have something to ad.

Avatars

Little pictures often cartoons to identify yourself from memory. I like the self portraits on this site better.

I have suggested a PM facility about two or three times now since I've been a member... and the response is that it is 'on the list' of things to do.

Avatars: waste of time and bandwidth, IMHO.

Emoticons: firmly ruled out by Pete, quite recently.
