I work for a local telecommunications company in the Channel Islands and my image has been picked for the cover of the 2007 telephone directory.

I was given the commission as I work for the company in engineering and freelance as a photography when they need one.

They have been so pleased with the work I have submitted. Marketing felt the connection and story would also make a good link.

I've spent about 10hrs of work and 55.00 on some hdr software to produce the image they required.

I have a credit note and story on the inside cover and been promised some printer proof sets that I can keep and pass down to my children.

This is a great asset to me and my portfolio and not sure what I should charge baring in mind the info above. But they are happy to pay a few for my services?

What should I charge?
The print run will be 50,000 and one is delivered to every household in Guernsey.

I suppose you should also bear in mind that you will have your image and credit in 50,000 homes for an entire year. Will your contact details be included in the inside story? How much would that kind of possible advertising cost you?

They offered to pay a 1,000 for the images plus time and materials for production costs.

I'm more than happy with that.

So would I, minus your 55 costs, it's 94.50 per hour. Paul
