I finally upgraded my D70 to D90 today, the only problem is that the software I use (PSP & PS) are not recognising the Raw file format and the jpg shots are all broken up or have a strange band of colour running through them!

I have a sandisk ultra 2 8gb memory card.

What has gone wrong??

Install the software from the disk that came with the camera and that should allow PS to open the files. Don't know about PSP though.

You may need to upgrade your versions of PSP / PS then I'm afraid.

What about the strange things that are showing on the jpeg shots??

Ah, the JPEG's.
Are you using a card reader or do you connect your camera directly to the computer?
I had a similar problem that turned out to be the card reader.

I am connecting directly to the PC via my camera, if I use my card reader everything freezes

Sounds like a computer problem then.
Can you try another computer somewhere?

Lightroom should open your files and as a last resort you can try Capture NX which give good conversions but very slowly.

Thanks everyone. I tried another memory card and still had the same problem. I then tried my daughters new laptop and had no problems! My pc is only 2 years old and running Vista Service pack 1, but something doesn't like my new camera and its software :-(

Upgrade the PS or reinstall its software, I think in this way you can solve your problem. 220-602

New graphics card installed in PC and I am now using NX2. All was going well until the weekend and it is all happening again! Now I wish I had never seen or heard of a D90!!
