Poppy fields in Warwickshire?

26 Jun 2009 7:49PM
Does anyone know of any intense (ie not just the odd one or two) poppy fields in the Warwickshire area? If you do, explicit directions would be appreciated (ie the road name or grid reference rather than "just outside Banbury". I have been asking around locally but no-one knows of any.

Thanks in advance

Not Warwickshire, but I know of one in Northamptonshire, by the side of the A509 out of Wellingborough and just before Wollaston, the field is just red poppies and nothing else, there is also a layby opposite, only problem is, no footpath and it's next to a farm drive, but looks amazing as you drive past.

Two weeks ago there was a field full of poppies next to Blakedown station near Kidderminster, I have not been passed recently. Not Warwickshire I know.

Update. Passed through Blakedown today and poppies are still there.

The poppies seem to be disappearing round here (Suffolk), last week there were fields full of them, but this week there seem to be decidedly less in the same places.
