Power vs. Wireless

I'm torn between the Sigma EF530 (guide number of 53) and the Nikon SB-600 (guide number of 30 but can be used off-camera). Is the guide number of 30 too weak, or is wireless capability more important? I do think that usnig the Nikon off-camera could prove very useful but I'd like some help from people who know a lot more than me.

Cheers,
Jon McGovern

Both flashguns have similar GNs when their zoom heads are set to the same length. At 35mm the SB600 has a GN of 30 and the Sigma's GN is 31, at 85mm the SB600's GN is 40 and the Sigma's is 48. The higher maximum GN of the Sigma would only be of real benefit when shooting at longer focal lengths, and then it would only gain you just about 1 stop exposure if the SB600 was set to 85mm and the Sigma to 105mm.
