I am trying to process some RAW images from my new Canon G5X Mark 2. I have downloaded the latest version of DPP4 and it does not want to know about the .CR3 files from this camera. Neither does Windows Live Photo Gallery. (I am not a Photoshop user). Any good ideas?

I have a copy of DPP4 which I don't use but to test it out for your problem I updated it and found a cr3 file from your camera on the web. It opened just fine. The new update is fairly recent so maybe if you download the latest version again it may work for you. Another way could be be via the free Adobe DNG software.

Send Canon a fairly disgruntled email on the lines of "disappointed " rather than "stroppy". Its a method I have used in the past for other problems with some sucsess. Should you happen to mention that fellow photo webs site members were unable to throw sufficient light on the subject you may well be surprised with the speed of the results.....heres hoping.....sneakey but fair.....stuart

Thanks for those comments.

Capto - I did as you suggested and it now seems to work OK with the update

The Adobe Digital Negative Converter works with CR3 files.
