Hello,

Does anyone know how to "Publish" a ProShow Gold A/V presentation to be viewed on a Mac? I sent an Exe file of a ProShow presentation to him but his Mac won't open it.

Help please! Smile

Mac will not open an .exe file as it Windows dependent.
Try the solution suggested here.

Thanks.

I put together our clubs 2019 NYSDPA presentations using ProShow, and regularly sent them to our chairman to check over (he has a Mac) but for the life of me I don't know how I did it !

You are ready to output the file to create the actual show. ProShow offers many output options including, Video, VCD, AutorunCD, EXE and Screensaver.

Video - Mpeg file

VCD - Video CD, for playback on DVD players.

Autorun CD - for playback in another computer.

EXE - for playback on the computer the show was created on.

Screensaver - for creating a Windows® screensaver.

Select the required option. You need the first one....a video file. Select that choice from the menu.

Now, click on the button of the final output you would like, and create your show.

Job done

Hope this helps Pat

Is it essential that you have to use a Mac? My Club produces an annual AV of our International Salon but use Pictures to exe but only run on Windows for projection or Zoom.

It's just that I have ProShow, had it for years but it's not supported anymore! As I said earlier I used it for the 2019 NYSDPA presentations and it was no bother. I just want to send a PS presentation to a friend who has a Mac but I can't remember how we did it. I have just tried an MP4 . . . . see if it works.

I made the NYSDPA presentation about 15 years ago.
For something like a NYSDPA presentation the SlideShow option in Lightroom enables deciding the order of images, interval between images, music - and even conversion to a pdf.
Lightroom is not as flexible as ProShow - and works different to PowerPoint.
PowerPoint for things like league tables has a lot going for it.

MP4 files work OK

Those in my club who are AV enthusiasts, including an international AV judge, all use and recommend Pictures to exe. I believe that it is more comprehensive than Proshow Gold but they have never produced Mac version probably because Apple do not always share information with developers. I have an earlier version myself but do not produce AV's very often. There are outputs possible other than exe.
