Hi, i've recently bought a new 19" monitor and seem to have a problem with the ruler and guides. When I click on "view print size" a 6 x 4" print is about an inch shorter than it should be, i've held a ruler up against the onscreen ruler and it is indeed smaller than each real inch! Can anyone give me a step by step tutorial in setting up the guides to be accurate?

Thanks Dean.

Just had a look on my 19" monitor and the PS inches are bigger than a real inch.
Perhaps it's more to do with the set up of the monitor/video card combination rather than PS?

I found site once, that showed how to set the resolution of your monitor to PS so that the rulers were accurate, but can I hell find it again! So I know it can be done.

Surely this is dependant on your screen resolution & refresh rate settings, Or am I still in CRT land (yes) an have been lucky. Sad

I've just found out how to do it!
Yes it is dependant on the screen resolution.
In PS preferences go to Units & Rulers and adjust the screen resolution pixels per inch until you get an accurate measurement.
Mine was at 72 ppi and setting it to 70 has made it more like an inch.

Did you close the photo and open it again?
Works here in PS and Elements.
