Does anyone know of a free online conversion prog, that would convert Quark Express files to Adobe Acrobat Reader files.
If not how much would one cost?

You could always use a print-driver based one, such as cutepdf. You need to install the converter and the utility, then just print to it and it generates a PDF file. There's others around, but this one works for me.

I do not want to print the thing, I just want to save it all as I need is a conversion prog so I can upload the files to lulu.com, so I can produce a Calendar for Leukemia and Cancer reasearch, therefore why would I need to alter my print drivers?

PDFs are generated by the printer utility in Quark Xpress. Basically, the machine performs a 'print' but outputs to a file rather than the printer.

David - that's just the way it works! It means you can generate a PDF file from any application - instead of printing it creates the file for you. I presume lulu.com wants PDF files?

That sounds fine, but if I was to work on the project for a while, then need to print something else in another program, could I do this without re-installing and installing all the time?

Once the pdf driver is installed you just use it as another printer, you don't need to keep reinstalling anything and it doesn't affect how you use your other apps. Why not give it a go - you can always uninstall it if it doesn't suit you and it's free.

Will Acrobat Pro read Quark Express files?

Therefore install pdf driver & use to change quark files to a PDF, then once you have finished converting you can then print documents with normal drivers.

Converting a file to a pdf takes a few seconds, but in the meantime you can still print to real printers from your other applications.

Thanks but, I never meant in the meantime, what I meant was
1/Convert several files until they are fully converted
2/Then afterwards simply print other documents as normal using original print drivers.
