A friend of my is looking for new camera. He looks for a camera with a very quick response time because he has little children and the move fast. The quality of the photos must be nice for home use

He can spend about 300/400 euro
Thanks Sam

I hope you understand me my English isnt very good.

Not so sure about the S5500, especially if my S5000 is anything to go by. The AF is slow, this results in a long shutter lag. Other than this, it is a very capable camera.

i have an s5500 and the quoted .05 second shutter lag (quickest in its class) is quick enough for me.

it sounds like the conditions wont be that demanding???

i shoot motorsports and it serves me well.

i havent had a problem with the AF either. perhaps i bought a pay day camera?

Quote: .05 second shutter lag

I found that the S5000 had a fairly short shutter lag as long as the camera had been pre-focussed. Otherwise (when including time for the AF to do its job), I found that the shutter lag was at least 10 times the above quoted figure (1/2 - 1 second).
