What book would you recomend for D300?
I have seen this one Mastering the Nikon D300 by Darrell Young.

David Busch's Nikon D300 Guide to Digital SLR Photography

It does not have to be one of those but that is what I have seen so far

What book do you have and how do you find it?

Thom Hogans D300 User Guide. It's an e-book but is SUPERB! I can recommend it to anyone. It's suitable for the beginner and those who want to get right into the technical details. He certainly knows his way around the Nikon and gives practical examples of the theory also. There's also a Capture NX and workflow videos on the disk.

If you can cope with the fact it's an e-book then I doubt you'll find anything better.
