Recycling/ repairing used lenses?

I dropped my Olympus 40-150 lens a week or so ago. Initially thought it was ok, only visible damage was to the edge of the filter. However, it has now stopped focussing. Have cleaned the contacts, which appear worn ( it was used when I bought it) but have to admit it's probably a gonna!.
It can go in the bin, but seems a waste if someone somewhere knows how to repair these (assuming Olympus would charge the earth).
Is there any place who could make use of it?
Thanks Jeff

Quote:If it's the little 'plastic fantastic' then probably not worth repairing when MPB have several on sale from £60 or so upwards. If it's the PRO then repair it unless the cost exceeds that of a replacement, either new or secondhand.
Yes, it is that one...has been a great little lens.... thanks, Jeff
