Recycling/ repairing used lenses?

I dropped my Olympus 40-150 lens a week or so ago. Initially thought it was ok, only visible damage was to the edge of the filter. However, it has now stopped focussing. Have cleaned the contacts, which appear worn ( it was used when I bought it) but have to admit it's probably a gonna!.

It can go in the bin, but seems a waste if someone somewhere knows how to repair these (assuming Olympus would charge the earth).

Is there any place who could make use of it?

Thanks Jeff

I would certainly get some kind of estimate first before writing off the lens.

If it's the little 'plastic fantastic' then probably not worth repairing when MPB have several on sale from £60 or so upwards. If it's the PRO then repair it unless the cost exceeds that of a replacement, either new or secondhand.

I assumed that you had the f/2.8 version; I agree with the others I would just pick up a s/h f/4-5.6 version and use your wreck as a door stop or funky ornament.
