Resetting Second Hand Camera

I've recently bought a second hand canon 1DX mark ii and a 5D mark iv. is it best to reset the cameras back to factory settings to clear previous owners settings and start with my own. Thanks

Yes - among other things, it will clear any copyright/author info any former owner has input.
It also makes it easier to enter your own settings if you start with a 'clean' camera.

Yes that's what I thought but wasn't to sure so thought i'd ask first before re setting them, thanks for your help,

Does the instruction book not give any clues?

I couldn't find anything in the instruction book as its more about setting the camera up from new. I have reset them back to factory settings now and updated the firmware and they seem ok
