Return postage from abroad

I want to send some photographs abroad to enter in an exhibition. As well as my entry fee I need to enclose return postage. How can I find out how much to enclose ? The Post Office told me about International Reply Coupons, but it seems that to use these assumes I know how much it will cost to post the package back to the UK. Any advice would be appreciated.

In this case France. But I will want to submit prints to exhibitions in countries outside Europe too.
