Hi

How do you get the back off of this phone?!!!! Looked on YouTube and a few suggestions are with the use of heat, hairdryer etc. Surely this can't be the way!!!!

Help!

I don't think most smartphones are designed to be opened, except by a phone shop if it needs repair.

Why would you want to take the back off?

If it is the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S8 then you can't as they are designed to be waterproof. You can send the phone away for a screen or battery change though.

I didnít realise that both sim & sd slots are not behind the battery, but located at the top/bottom and need to be prodded by a little tool to release the trays Blush

Never had a phone like that so I didnít know! Now just need to find something to use as donít have that tool. Thanks for replies though Smile

The small tool to open the tray should have come with the phone.
However, if you don't have it, if the hole you stick it in is similar to on an iPhone, then just use a thin needle, it does the same job.

For my S7 edge the tool was located inside a black cardboard pouch if I remember correctly.

My Samsung tablet came with a similar tool - very easy to lose!

You can just use any thin pointed object though ti release the tray.

My cheap Galaxy J3 has two trays on the LHS. One for the sim and a larger tray for a micro SD card..

You learn something every day. I assumed that the Galaxy S series had more features than the J series.
