Happily the lens survived! 
I think I read that it was more like 167 degrees - on the lens I use anyway. I was standing about 10 inches behind these pillars about an hour ago..... just resized and a reduced opacity screen layer to brighten the middle bit up a tad - not trying to produce a masterpiece
