Anyone know how magazines get a print of the screen they are working on for illustration purposes??

I would imagine it is just the print screen key and then increase pixels to 300DPI.

Does that sound right when printing in a mag?

If you mean what I think you mean.i.e. how do they do a screen capture then use it in a magazine? There is plenty of software that will do that - Irfanview (free) is one. As you say the image can then be manipulated to a suitable size/resolution after capture.

thanks Jon. Yes that was exactly what I was trying to figure out. But what I have figured is that you can use the print screen function on the keyboard then open it in PS and just paste. Thanks for the advise.

Congrats on reaching the finals of the Digital Camer Photographer of the year!

A nice freebie I use a lot for screen captures, or more often, parts of screen, is Print Key 2000 .
