I was out today took a few pictures, but once I put the card in my computer. Adobe Bridge came up with it doesn’t recognise the file type, it’s only got Raw files on it. So I think the card is corrupt, can anyone reccomend free recovery software. If I can get my pictures off it then it’s going in the bin

Recuva has an excellent reputation and I have used it successfully myself on a couple of occasions.

Do the photos show up on the back of the camera?
Try uploading the pictures using another product (Lightroom camera raw etc) or connect your camera direct to the computer

I do not think the card is corrupt otherwise the images wouldn't show.

I put the card back in the camera and connected the camera to my computer. As you said Steve, but this time the pictures were not showing on back of the camera. Plus I was unable to download them this way either.
I have tried three different programmes to down load the pictures, all say the same unable to download as this file type isn’t recognised. So I have cut my losses and put the card in the bin, I have ordered six new cards from Amazon now. So onwards and upwards.
Thank you to everyone for your help
