My son went to his staff party and they were asked to take secret santa presents costing 10. He didn't know the person's name that came out of the hat - and didn't know many other people there either - but gave 2 bottles of Chardonnay at just under a 5 each.
When he opened his gift it was a thermal mug that sells at less than 3 on Amazon. He wouldn't have minded if it had been a funny present - but a thermal mug!!

So what's the worst secret santa present that you've opened?

I was given a tiny morsal (a 5cm square) of terrys chocolate orange! Which I don't particularly like anyway!

Mine was a coat hanger and from the same people, the year before, it was a biro pen. And they were relatives!

I got a 'Dead Fred' penholder and joke glasses last year in the office on - the wrapping paper probably cost more! (it was really nice wrapping paper lol). Still, I made my recipient's night with a mini remote control helicopter, apparently he'd always wanted to be a pilot (no, I'm not joking!)

Two years ago I got a small plastic sheep that you pushed across the table to pick up crumbs. It was called a crumb pet!

I've always got MEGA good presents.

This year our budget is 5 and I have bought my SS a mini Pandora cake, a mini box of Lindt chocolates, 2 gel hand warmers, a make-up kit and I hand made her a book bag for her little boy, all for 5.50.

I am one canny shopper Wink
