Setting up flash ring

20 May 2022 8:37PM
I have a kf 150 flash ring. It says it’s compatible with the nikon d500 but can’t set it up. Flash control is greyed out on camera. Have tried researching how to do it with no joy. Is it not compatible despite saying it is or am I doing something wrong to try and set it up?

Have you asked the firm you bought it from for guidance?

Details like does the flash connect via the camera body hot shoe or the Pc sync cord can be important.

Sending a link to the exact product could be useful.

I am guessing a tad, it may be that only Nikon flashes can be controlled via the camera.

Have you tried a flash compatable shutter speed, and in manual mode ?

Agree... You should be able to control all the functions of th flash using its own display and controls.

check the recc flash sync shutter speed on your camera and use manual mode to fire off a range of images at various f stops and flash power levels.....make notes as you go......if your hot shoe isnt up to connecting to allow this there maybe a third party flash link cable or adapter out there somewhere.
