Shadow Removal

Hi guys!
I use Photoshop CC and was wondering if it would be possible to remove the shadow on the hill on the bottom left? I'd like to get the colour to match the bright colours elsewhere. I'm happy with the shadows on the background mountains though. I have tried Shadows & Highlights but I'm not very familiar with it.

Any info appreciated!:

Erm no and why? Shadows define and add interest.
You could try a local selection and lifting the shadows, but, methinks it would be a wasted exercise.

You could just lift the shadows on camera raw, or the original raw file if it is raw. But not too much as the shadow does add depth and it would look flat if you got rid of it completely.

Take it into Camera Raw and take both the shadows and blacks towards the right. This will cause the highlights to become blown so you will need to move the Highlights and white to the left. Do this slowly and carefully and DO NOT OVER PUSH IT - in capitals because unless you are very careful you will ruin the picture.

Thanks guys!
While I thought it looked ok on the computer, on the small screen of my phone, I thought it looked a bit too much shadow.

I’ll try the Camera RAW! I hadn’t thought of that!😀

An easy though less flexible alternative is to slightly reduce the contrast to help lighten the shadows.

Camera Raw but it does rather spoil the composition formed by the shadows.

I tried blanking off about 5% of the left side on both images, just to the left of the line of conifers on the slope. I thought it gave it more balance and brought the level of the ridge down nearer to level of the hill on the right. And reduced the size of the shadow. But

It is all personal opinion!Grin

It will not help this time but, if you used phone to take the shot, many have HDR included which may give you the result you seek.

Thanks Dave!
I took it at different exposures so I might try HDR.😀
