Shooting to infinity

I've come a cropper with DOF a few times lately - when I shoot landscapes on black and white I push infinity just out of the DOF and it helps give a better sense of depth when using 'standard' lenses (as does not correcting for UV) - but I've done this a few times with colour film (largely through force of habit), and the results are shocking

I think this thread should have been titled 'Shooting to Infinity and Beyond!'

Edit: I think it may have been Mr G. Orwell who wrote 'all infinities are equal, but some are more equal than others.'

I wake up still hearing the hooves of Boxer kicking the knackers-van walls during some nights...
